MGL Wealth Management Ltd held their 1st Charity Golf Day at Headlam Hall last week. The nearest to the pin competition was won in style by Peter Smith who had a fantastic hole in one.
Five teams of four took part in the event which was ran in partnership with Mitchells Grievson Chartered Accountants. The winning team consisted of Chris Hutchinson, Nigel Rea, Peter Milmore-Armstrong and Craig Dixon. They each won a bottle of champagne and the bragging rights to be the winners of the 1st Children with Cancer Charity Golf Day.
The nearest to the pin competition was on the hole 7, a short par 3 with a pond around the front of the green. St. James’s Place Executive Business Acquisition Manager, Peter Smith who plays off a handicap of 6 stepped up and hit his ball to around 7ft from the flag, the ball span back and trickled into the hole. Impressive stuff! This was Peter’s 6th hole in one!
The 9-hole course at Headlam was in superb condition. Participants were hoping to win a football card draw to win a 6 month golf membership which was kindly donated by Headlam Hall. Embarrassingly, MGL Wealth Management Ltd Director, Barry Talman won the draw but felt it only right to auction the membership off to raise yet more money for the charity. The winning bid of £100 was made by St. James’s Place Senior Partnership Development Manager, Michael Kyle.
Andrew Park, MGL Wealth Management Ltd, Practice Manager said: “The weather stayed nice and the feedback from everyone was that they had a great day, plus we managed to raise a further £500 for the Children with Cancer Charity. I’ve got to say a huge thanks to Headlam for donating the golf membership and for the staff for helping make the day a great success. The facilities at Headlam are superb. Also, well done to Peter Smith for getting a hole in one and the winning team.”
